MPEG-2 crypté (for Feedsat)

Message par baldrick »

Hi Feedsat! I created a new thread because I couldn’t reply to your post in the first one.

You said I need a card and a subscription in order to watch feeds transmitted in MPEG-2 crypte. Can you please tell me where do I get all these things??? Like I said, I’m completely new at this.

Thank you very much!

with a SS2 card: you can't !

I said that because I thought you have planned to use a piracy system, sorry for the mistake.

Okay, I get it now. You were talking about a regular satellite receiver which is capable of decoding the encrypted programs. I came up with such a basic question you thought I was asking how to illegally decode with Skystar2. LOL!

But if I get a regular receiver, will I then also be able to watch all those MPEG-2 4:2:2 and MPEG-2 4:2:0 feeds?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Regular receivers ready for 4:2:2 are Quali TV 1080 (MPEG2 HD receiver, cheap on ebay ), the Dreambox (with a patch, don't remember which one) I can confirm the perfect compatibility with the Humax HDCI 2000 with 4:2:2, maybe more but I don't know them all...

voilà, that's all

Thanks for your help! However, I checked the receivers you mentioned and realized they’re too expensive for my needs. You see, I already have good TV with 130 programs, which I’m getting from my internet provider. It’s somehow connected through computer, I think. The only reason why I’m now interested in extra equipment are major tennis tournaments. I can watch some on Eurosport1, Eurosport2, DSF and some other programs, but there are also many missing. That’s why I’m now trying to find the cheapest way to see the rest. I’d probably need only one good program like Sport+, Sport Expressen, Sport Klub (Serbia) or some other. So you see, it'd be crazy to spend so much money just for one channel. I’ll just get Skystar2 and search for free feeds, it’s still better than nothing! But I do have two more questions for you.

I read somewhere that antenna shouldn’t be too small but neither too big? What size would you recommend? (I’m in central Europe, if that makes any difference)

I also read that Skystar2 can be upgraded with a module and a smartcard and then you can watch encrypted programs. Is that true?

THANKS AGAIN!
