Hello, just registered to the board. I understand french but I don't speak and write in your language.... sorry. Do you know if EBU uses NS3 frequencies other than well known 11075 at 10E? I heard more broadcasters uses NS3 for custom feeds (maybe in Italy) but no more informations here. Thanks.

Hi Feedman and welcome to this board.

There are " plenty"of frequencies in NS3, yes few from Italian broadcasters, also RRsat use NS3 for some of their TX (few at 46°E in c band).

EBU use NS3 at 10°E, 3°W (ku and C) 55.5°W and sometimes at 47,5°W but this in NS3 AND BISS for most of the time.

But satellite dx and hunting for 2016 will start shortly...

There are probably more, this is what is so interesting in this hobby, not for watching but to find.

Thank you Feedsat, yes main play of a feedhunter is finding new satellites, new frequencies, new feeds..... I didn't know about NS3 broadcasting at 3 West (new orbital position from just few weeks). I'm in this hobby from 1989 (but radio amateur from early 80s) and feeds always has been my main reason for playing with satellite. Do you know which orbital position is used for NS3 italian feeds? Thank you again, very good board!
PS: If you need, please translate my posts in french for other users, unfortunately I'm not able to do that.

You've right, 3w is a new position since September used by ABS.

It's not necessary to translate your post because ns3 is very specific.

From where do you come from?

Welcome on the board !

buonasera

Oh, you speak many languages.... CONGRATULATION for your very good italian! Really! Yes I know about NS3.... the receiver is very expensive, too expensive! As I said, I just heard about usage of NS3 by italian broadcasters, but I don't know on which satellite. Possibly 5 or 8 West?
PS: This is a very good board for feedhunters and satellite technical information in general, and I will continue visiting and browsing here. Thanks.

(NS2000 + 4T40 + TS Anlayser)

What about NS3 signals at 3 West? It seems EBU Hypermux is there, too. But this satellite is located in inclined orbit I believe. Any news? Thanks.

Yes, there is an Hypermux @ 3°W, it was the first service available on this satellite in KU
(Same hypermux at 10°E, 55.5°W, sometimes @ 47.5°W, and 100.5°E for Asia, etc)

Unfortunately, most of the contributions are encrypted ,about 12 HD services per Mux.
Less interesting than what you can expect.
