This week I had chance to test one NS2000 just updated to NS4. Unfortunately we are not able to lock new frequency of 11158H at 7 East, and we don't understand why. We selected NS4 mode and roll-off 0.2, we have SNR around 9.5 dB, so satellite signal seems good, but receiver did not lock. Similar situation on transponder at 10E, 11387V SR 34285. Do you think the box could have any fault? Or what can I check? Thank you.

The answer is easy, your SNR is not strong enough for a lock

You must check the antenna size (1m, 1.2m ?) the cable, the LNB, etc

I made a quick test with SNR @ 9.5dB:

Thank you Feedsat for your reply. We tried with 1.2m dish but we had not much time for antenna adjustment, and I assumed SNR was enough so I thought to a possible receiver fault. So, which SNR is needed for good NS4 lock? It seems a very high SNR compared to 8.5 dB for DVB-S2. Thanks.

Higher than 10.5dB as long rolloff is 0.5 but not for long time 8-[
The standard is not the only reason, this is also because of the modulation 16APSK , but some NS3 are in 32APSK and 64APSK capable...

Thank you, but unfortunately that box is not mine..... bad luck. I just tested one NS2000 last year in NS3, now in NS4 that seems quite similar. So, what is the reason for using so critical modulation types? Maybe digital stream is more solid once signal is locked? Or what else? Hoping to make more test during next French Open tennis in Roland Garros starting next week. Last year it was one specific transponder for main courts, maybe at 10E if I remember. Now I found one TP at 11387V but in NS3, not NS4..... We will see in next days (if I will have chances for more test....). Thanks.

Yes at 10 E this is not not an hypermux, it still in ns3 , other hypermux are in ns3 enhanced, not ns4 (even if they are recognized as this type). The 1st EBU TP which will switched to NS4 is 3°W very soon...roll off 0.2 , new SR.

Greetings

Thank you very much Feedsat for your very useful information. Which SR will be used? Could you please keep updated NS3-NS4 situation in Europe? Hypermux at 3 West seems weaker than 7 and 10 East, no other NS3 mux found here with my meter. As I said, we will see where will be broadcasted Roland Garros. Thank you again.

NS3/NS4 is for feed only, received by professional with few meters antenna

Anyone found any NS3/NS4 frequency for Roland Garros feeds? Just checked but found nothing at 10E, as I said I have problem to lock Hytpermux at 7E yet (I had no time to better adjust my dish). But I don't believe they use all Hypermux for 10 Roland Garros courts..... maybe a specific transponder could be used. Any update is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

New symbol rate at 7 East, 11158 GHz horizontal polarity. New SR would be 70.000. Signal seems a little bit weaker here in North Italy. Any other report? Thanks.

Most of the EBU Hypermux have switched to NS4 (instead of NS3 enhanced) with new SR worldwide on the 6th of June

On voit que EBU ne les paie vraiment pas cher ces IRD....

Hello guys,

Can anyone see the content of the ns4 transponders located at 3w and 7e?

Best regards,
Liviu
